Ciprian founded the site and owns the methodology behind it: how the VS Score is weighted, where specifications are allowed to come from, and the rule that a commercial relationship never touches a ranking. Most of his time goes on the unglamorous half of that job — reading manufacturer specification tables, help guides and service manuals, and throwing out figures that only ever appear in press coverage. Based in Bucharest.
Editorial role
Checks the specifications on every product page against manufacturer documentation before the page is published, decides which sources are acceptable, and maintains the scoring methodology. Every product and comparison page carries a "Specifications reviewed by" credit for this work.
Product pages on BetterBuyBase are research-based rather than hands-on tests. Specifications come from manufacturer documentation and retailer listings, the VS Score is computed from those specifications with a published weighting, and the editorial notes draw on that data together with published measurements and owner feedback. A page is described as a hands-on review only when the product was used in person.
