Lefant M3 Max: Specs, Price, Pros & Cons

For around a third of what this feature list usually costs, the dock self-empties into a long-interval bag, washes the spinning mop pads with heated water, refills and drains its own tank, and doses its own detergent. Automatic detergent dispensing in particular is normally reserved for flagships.

The catch is one word in the specification, and it matters more than it looks: the mops are dried with unheated air. Damp pads sitting in a plastic dock is exactly how a robot vacuum starts to smell.

Editor’s note

For around $350 the M3 Max offers a feature list that normally starts at $700. The dock self-empties into a 3.2 litre bag that Lefant rates for eight weeks, washes the spinning mop pads with heated water, refills and drains its own water tank, and doses its own detergent. Automatic detergent dispensing in particular is something usually reserved for flagships.

The catch is one word in the specification, and it matters more than it looks: the mops are dried with unheated air. Lefant describes it four different ways across its materials — cool drying, fast air-dry, fresh air — and none of them is warm. Damp pads sitting in a plastic dock is exactly how a robot vacuum starts to smell, and rivals at this price increasingly use heated drying. If your dock will live somewhere humid or poorly ventilated, weigh that seriously.

The rest is sensible rather than exciting. It suits hard-floor-dominant homes with area rugs; the 9 mm mop lift and a mid-tier brush are not deep-carpet tools, so wall-to-wall plush carpet is the wrong environment. Navigation uses distance sensors rather than a camera with object recognition, so a cluttered floor of cables and toys will defeat it more often than a Roborock or an Ecovacs would be.

Lefant publishes no true MSRP, and the $349.99 you see is the Amazon store price rather than a discount off something higher.

Judged honestly, this is budget money for a flagship-shaped feature list, where the compromises are in the details rather than the headline. If your floors are mostly hard and your dock lives somewhere airy, it is a lot of automation for the price.

The bottom line

The Lefant M3 Max earns a VS Score of 53, a solid mid-pack result among the 50 robot vacuums we compare here.

Who it’s for
Mid-size, hard-floor-dominant homes with area rugs, and pet owners who want the hands-off dock experience — self-empty plus mop washing and auto-detergent — without paying $700 or more.
Who should look elsewhere
Homes with wall-to-wall or plush carpet, where a 9 mm mop lift and a mid-tier brush are not enough. Also wrong in humid rooms or an unventilated cupboard, because the mops are dried with unheated air.
The trade-off that matters
Flagship dock automation at half the price, paid for with cool-air mop drying and simpler obstacle avoidance. Both are fine in the right house and irritating in the wrong one.
The main alternative
Dreame D20 Air Plus — the closest direct rival with comparable suction and self-emptying, worth comparing if heated mop drying matters to you.
