iRobot Roomba Plus 415: Specs, Features, Pros & Cons

The entry ticket to iRobot's self-maintaining generation, and the pitch is straightforward: the dock that empties the bin, washes the mop pads and heat-dries them, at several hundred dollars below the flagship.

What survives the cost-cutting is the substance — proper laser navigation and mapping, carpet detection that lifts the pads, spinning mops with pressure for dried-on messes, and a chassis slim enough to slide under furniture the taller flagships bump against.

Editor’s note

The Plus 415 is the entry ticket to iRobot's 2026 self-maintaining generation, and its pitch is straightforward: the AutoWash dock experience – the robot returns to a station that empties its bin, rewets and washes its mop pads, then heat-dries them at 45 degrees – at $599.99, four hundred dollars below the flagship Max 775 we also cover.

What survives the cost-cutting is the substance. ClearView LiDAR navigation with proper mapping, carpet detection that lifts the pads automatically, dual spinning mop pads with SmartScrub pressure for dried-on messes, app scheduling and voice control through Alexa, Siri or Google. The robot itself is the compact 3.3-inch-tall chassis that slides under furniture the taller flagships bump against – genuinely slim by current standards.

What separates it from the Plus 515 and 575 above it: the 415 uses the standard ClearView LiDAR package rather than the Pro version with camera-assisted obstacle recognition, so it will map confidently but is more likely to plow through a stray sock than steer around it. iRobot also publishes no runtime for this model – and per our usual rule, we record nothing rather than the retailer guesses; the same goes for the 20,000 Pa suction claim in Amazon's title, which appears nowhere in iRobot's own materials and has been deliberately left out of this record.

Brand-new machine, thin review base – the usual first-year caveats apply.

The buying logic inside the family: the 515 adds capacity and runtime for $100 more, the 575 adds the Pro perception stack. But if the job is daily hard-floor maintenance in an apartment or mid-size home, this is the cheapest way to stop thinking about vacuuming – which is the entire point of the category.

The bottom line

The iRobot Roomba Plus 415 earns a VS Score of 51, a solid mid-pack result among the 50 robot vacuums we compare here.

Who it’s for
Apartments and mid-size hard-floor homes wanting the self-maintaining dock experience – wash, dry, empty – at the family's lowest price.
Who should look elsewhere
Cluttered floors: the standard ClearView package maps well but lacks the Pro tier's obstacle recognition, and stray cables and socks are its weakness.
The trade-off that matters
You save $200-400 against the Plus 575 and Max 775 by giving up camera perception and published runtime figures – fine in tidy homes, risky in busy ones.
The main alternative
iRobot's Roomba Plus 575, which we also cover, adds ClearView Pro perception and threshold climbing for the step-up money.
