Logitech G502 X PLUS: Specs, Price, Pros & Cons

The wireless, illuminated version of Logitech's thirteen-button mouse, and it solves the one problem that afflicts mice this well equipped: keeping them charged. A mouse with that many buttons, RGB lighting and a wireless link gets used heavily and drains accordingly.

This one supports wireless charging, so on a compatible mat it tops up whenever it is sitting still and the battery stops being something you think about. What it is not is light, and the comparison below is unsparing about that.

Editor’s note

The G502 X PLUS is the wireless, illuminated version of Logitech's thirteen-button mouse, and it solves the one problem that afflicts mice this well equipped.

That problem is charging. A mouse with 13 buttons, RGB lighting and a wireless link gets used heavily and drains accordingly — 130 hours here, respectable but not months. This one supports wireless charging, so on a compatible mat it tops up whenever it is sitting still, and the battery stops being something you think about.

The rest is the G502 layout in full: thirteen programmable buttons, a wheel that free-spins for flying through long lists and locks for precise clicks, tilt for horizontal scrolling, PTFE feet and onboard memory. The LIGHTFORCE switches are hybrid optical-mechanical, so they feel mechanical but cannot wear into a double-click fault.

At 106 g it is 22 g lighter than the wired G502 HERO and 22 g heavier than the plain G502 X — the lighting and the radio account for the difference. The sensor is HERO 25K at 25,600 DPI with 400 IPS tracking, which is the lowest tracking figure among the gaming mice here and relevant only at very low sensitivity.

Polling is 1,000 Hz wired and wireless.

Buy it if you want the full button count without a cable and will use a charging mat. Buy the plain G502 X if lighting does not matter — it is lighter and cheaper for the same layout.

The bottom line

The Logitech G502 X PLUS earns a VS Score of 47, a solid mid-pack result among the 79 mice we compare here. It stands out for more buttons, a higher max sensitivity and wireless charging. Just be aware of much shorter battery life and a much lower polling rate before you buy. Weigh those trade-offs against what matters most to you.

The VS Score is calculated from the weighted specifications above, compared with every other mouse we track — a shortlisting guide, not a substitute for your own priorities. See how we score.
