Dreame L10s Ultra: Specs, Features, Pros & Cons

The L10s Ultra is no longer a current model, and that is the most useful thing to know before reading anything else about it. Dreame has shipped several generations since, each one raising the headline figures and adding another trick at the dock, so this machine now competes against newer mid-range robots rather than the flagships it was designed to fight.

Buying a superseded flagship is frequently the best value in this category, because of what ages and what does not. The headline numbers age badly, because they are the thing every new launch is built to beat. The mechanical design, the build and the station age well. This one has the complete dock (emptying, refilling, washing the pads) and a mopping arrangement whose pads come away in your hand, which is a quieter virtue than any specification and the one owners notice in the second year.

What has dated is the motor. Suction across this category has climbed steeply since the machine launched and it now sits well down the field. On sealed hard floors and thin carpet that gap is largely theoretical. On deep pile, or in a house with a heavily shedding animal, it is not, and it is the one honest reason to spend the extra on something current.

There is a second question that applies to any discounted robot: how long the manufacturer keeps it supported. App updates, pads, filters and brushes all have to remain available for the machine to stay useful. Dreame's record here is reasonable, but checking that the consumables for a specific model are still stocked is five minutes well spent before buying any robot at the end of its life.

  • Slightly quieter operation ?59 dB vs 60.1 dB (median)
How this VS Score was computed

Score 46: each known spec is measured against the median of all robot vacuums (58 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 37% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note

The L10s Ultra is Dreame's full-service machine, and the detail that separates it from its rivals is unglamorous: you can take the mop pads off.

Most self-washing docks are designed around cleaning the pads in place, which works until one needs replacing or a proper hand wash. Here the dual spinning pads are removable, so maintenance is straightforward: they come off for a hand wash or a replacement. The dock still does the routine work (emptying the bin, refilling the water and washing the pads after each run), and the filter is washable too.

Navigation is LiDAR with obstacle avoidance, mapping, no-go zones, room-by-room cleaning and recharge-and-resume, on a 5,200 mAh battery. Spinning pads scrub by rotating, which handles dried marks better than a static pad dragged across the floor.

The number that sets its place in the range is suction: 5,300 Pa. That is well below the 18,000 to 22,000 Pa flagships here and adequate for hard floors and low-pile carpet, though short of what deep rugs or heavy pet hair need. It is also 97 mm tall, so some low furniture is out, and no HEPA filter is listed.

Buy it if mopping matters more than raw suction, your floors are mostly hard, and you would rather be able to remove and wash the pads yourself. Where carpet or pet hair is the problem, a high-suction machine suits better.

The bottom line

The Dreame L10s Ultra earns a VS Score of 46 on the 37% of specifications we could compare like for like — an indication, not a ranking.

Who it’s for
Mostly hard floors and an owner who likes to take the pads off for a proper hand wash and is happy with a discounted older flagship.
Who should look elsewhere
Deep pile and a heavily shedding animal are the cases for spending more, and raised saddles or low furniture limit where it can go.
The trade-off that matters
Suction has aged the most. On sealed floors the gap to newer machines barely shows, and on thick carpet or with pet hair it is the reason to buy current.
The main alternative
Dreame L40 Ultra: a newer Dreame with more suction and pads that come off automatically before carpet
