Razer Naga V3 Pro: Specs, Price, Pros & Cons
The Naga V3 Pro is Razer's flagship MMO mouse, and its defining feature is that you can change what kind of mouse it is. Three magnetic side plates snap on without tools: a twelve-button grid for MMOs, giving 23 programmable buttons in total; a six-button hex plate for MOBAs and battle royales, giving 17; and a two-button plate for shooters and everyday work, giving 13. Synapse can switch profiles automatically when it detects which plate is fitted.
The sensor is Razer's Focus Pro 50K Gen-3, rated at 50,000 DPI, 930 IPS and 90 G, with lift-off and landing distances settable independently across 26 levels. The main switches are optical Gen-4, rated for 100 million clicks at a lighter actuation force than the previous generation. Two new DPI buttons sit beside the left click, and the ring-finger button Razer removed on the V2 Pro is back, this time lockable, which was the original complaint.
The scroll wheel is the four-way HyperScroll Tilt Wheel Gen-2, with a 24-step tactile mode, a finer 48-step mode, free spinning, and a Smart-Reel mode that switches between them depending on how fast you flick it.
Connectivity is tri-mode: HyperSpeed wireless, Bluetooth and USB-C. Razer quotes 155 hours on HyperSpeed and 280 on Bluetooth. It measures 119.5 by 75.5 by 43.5 mm, glides on PTFE feet, stores five profiles on board, and lights the logo, wheel and twelve-button plate with Chroma.
Two things the table below cannot say for you. Razer publishes a single polling figure of 1,000 Hz for this mouse and does not list the HyperPolling dongle as compatible, so unlike its esports siblings this is not an 8 kHz mouse. And the quoted 117 g excludes cable and dongle, but Razer never says whether it includes a side plate – they weigh 15 to 20 g each, so the figure in your hand is either 117 g or closer to 135.

Editor’s note
The Naga V3 Pro is for someone with a specific problem: too many abilities and not enough buttons. If you play an MMO seriously, or a MOBA where a second counts, the twelve-button plate is the reason this mouse exists, and nothing on a normal five-button mouse substitutes for it. If you do not have that problem, this is a heavy, expensive mouse.
The plate system is better executed than it sounds. Swapping takes a second, the magnets hold firmly enough that it never comes off in use, and Synapse can flip profiles with the plate, so the two-button configuration for a shooter and the twelve-button one for raid night are genuinely the same mouse.
Two things to know before buying. Wireless charging is real but it is not in the box: you swap the cover puck for Razer's charging puck and pair it with a HyperFlux V2 mat or Mouse Dock Pro, all sold separately, which is how the price climbs by more than half again. And this is a 1,000 Hz mouse – Razer's own competitive line runs at 8 kHz, so if you came from a Viper expecting the same report rate, this is not that product.
Weight is the other consideration. Even on Razer's most generous reading this is more than twice a modern featherweight, and MMO players tend to be fine with that because the mouse mostly sits still. Anyone who flicks for a living should look elsewhere in this catalogue.
Against the Naga V2 Pro it is a straightforward generational upgrade – new sensor, new switches, three more buttons per plate, the ring-finger button restored – at the same launch price. If you already own the V2 Pro and are happy with it, there is no urgency here.
