Roborock Qrevo S: Specs, Features, Pros & Cons

Roborock's naming is the hardest part of buying a Roborock. The Qrevo line alone runs to a base model, this S, a Plus, a Pro, a Master, a Curv and an Edge, and the suffixes do not sit on a single axis of quality. Some change the dock, some change the brush, some change the motor, and neighboring rungs are often separated by one feature that a given household will either use constantly or never notice.

What every one of them shares is the real reason people buy this brand: the app is better than its rivals'. Editing room boundaries, setting suction and water levels per room, drawing exclusion zones and keeping several floor plans saved are all things other manufacturers offer, and Roborock does them with markedly fewer rough edges. On a machine you only ever touch through a phone, that is worth more than a specification table can show.

Buying at the bottom of a line is a specific trade. The platform arrives intact: navigation, mapping, the app, the all-rubber brush that hair slides off rather than winding around, the dock that handles the routine. What is missing are the mechanical extras added further up, and within a single family those steps tend to be small in price and large in capability, which makes the cheapest member of a range an awkward recommendation surprisingly often.

The reader this suits is one who wants the platform and the software on uniform hard flooring, and who has looked at the models above it and concluded the extra mechanism would go unused. Anyone still weighing the ladder should compare the rungs directly rather than starting at the bottom on principle.

Where the Roborock Qrevo S trails the median

  • Much weaker suction ?7,000 Pa vs 19,750 Pa (median)
  • No edge-cleaning extension ?
  • No dirt detection & re-mop ?
  • A slightly lower mop lift ?10 mm vs 10.5 mm (median)
How this VS Score was computed

Score 39: each known spec is measured against the median of all robot vacuums (58 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 37% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note

The Qrevo S sits one rung above the base Qrevo, and the upgrade is modest and specific: 7,000 Pa of suction instead of 5,500, and 10 mm of mop lift instead of 7.

Both help. The extra suction is noticeable on low-pile carpet and pet hair, and the higher lift clears a thin rug that the base model's pads would drag across. Neither transforms the machine.

What it does not gain is the two features that most change day-to-day results, both of which arrive on the Qrevo Pro: there is no extending edge arm, so corners keep their dust outline, and no dirt detection, so a dirty patch gets one pass like everywhere else.

The shared platform brings LiDAR navigation with obstacle avoidance, four saved floor maps for a multistory home, an all-rubber anti-tangle brush, dual spinning mop pads, and a dock that empties the bin, refills the water and washes the pads. The robot recharges and resumes a job it could not finish, the pads come off for hand washing and the filter is washable, though Roborock lists no HEPA filter and gives no runtime or threshold height for this model.

The bottom line

The Roborock Qrevo S earns a VS Score of 39 on the 37% of specifications we could compare like for like — an indication, not a ranking.

Who it’s for
Uniform hard floors and a buyer who wants the Roborock app and dock at the lowest sensible price and will not miss the corner arm.
Who should look elsewhere
Kitchens that need a second pass and rooms with dusty corners are better served one step up the range.
The trade-off that matters
No edge arm or dirt detection. Those two change daily results more than the suction bump over the base Qrevo, and they sit on the next rung.
The main alternative
Roborock Qrevo S5V: a current Qrevo whose FlexiArm mop extends into corners and around furniture legs
