Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai: Specs, Features, Pros & Cons
The Spot+Scrub Ai pairs a laser-guided robot vacuum with a full-width roller mop and a dock that looks after both, and it is the Dyson to consider when mopping comes first. The name says as much: the vacuum is there, and the scrubbing is the point.
The robot side is conventional in the best sense. LiDAR handles navigation, with mapping, no-go zones, carpet detection, obstacle avoidance and app control, and recharge-and-resume lets a long job continue after a top-up. Dyson rates a charge at 200 min. The dock does four jobs. It empties the bin, measures detergent into the water, washes the roller and dries it with warm air before the next run. None of that needs a person in the loop, and the detergent step keeps every run on the same mix without anyone reaching for a measuring cap.
The trade Dyson made is height and heat. Its body is among the tallest here, so the space under a low bed or sofa is out of reach. The mop wash runs cooler than on several rivals, and there is no HEPA rating for anyone buying with allergies in mind. Suction is slightly modest for a flagship too.
It fits a household with mostly hard floors, high furniture and a daily mess from a kitchen or a hallway, where a robot that mops consistently without supervision earns its place over a low profile. A home with a toddler and a dog tracking mud across the tiles every afternoon is close to the ideal case. Measure the gap under the sofa before anything else.

How this VS Score was computed
Score 53: each known spec is measured against the median of all robot vacuums (58 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 33% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note
The Spot+Scrub is Dyson's mopping flagship, and its dock dispenses detergent automatically.
That is the small feature with the largest practical effect: the dock measures the cleaning fluid into the water itself, so every run mops with the same mix. It washes the roller mop at 60 degrees C and dries it with air at 45 degrees C, which keeps it from going sour between runs, and empties the bin.
Suction is 18,000 Pa driven through an anti-tangle brush, and navigation is LiDAR with obstacle avoidance, mapping, no-go zones and recharge-and-resume. The roller mop presses evenly across its whole width.
The specification to check before buying is height: 109 mm, taller than most robot vacuums. Most are 80 to 100 mm, and the gap under a sofa or a bed frame is frequently in that range. Measure the lowest furniture you want cleaned under before ordering, because no firmware update will change it.
Dyson publishes no HEPA rating for this model, which is worth knowing if filtration is part of why you are buying.
Buy it if mopping is the main job, you want the detergent handled for you, and your furniture has generous clearance. Buy a lower-profile machine if it does not, or a Roborock if you want a hotter mop wash.

The bottom line
The Dyson Spot+Scrub Ai earns a VS Score of 53 on the 33% of specifications we could compare like for like — an indication, not a ranking.
- Who it’s for
- High sofas and beds, and a household that wants every mop run done with the same detergent mix and no measuring by hand.
- Who should look elsewhere
- Low furniture is the clear reason to look elsewhere, and filtration-minded buyers get no HEPA rating here.
- The trade-off that matters
- Height. It is one of the tallest robots here, so the dock's convenience comes with a body that stops at gaps most rivals clear.
- The main alternative
- ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI: a roller mop washed hotter, in a lower body
