eufy E20: Specs, Features, Pros & Cons
A few years ago, laser navigation and a base that empties the bin were the features you paid a premium for. Both are now unremarkable in the middle of the market, and the eufy E20 illustrates the shift neatly: it arrives with room-by-room scheduling, saved floor plans, keep-out zones and a bagged dock, all of which used to mark out a flagship.
When the feature list stops separating machines, the differences that remain are physical ones. Filtration is the clearest here, and it is where this model beats several robots that cost more, a number of which do not list fine filtration at all. That matters in a house with allergies or an animal that sheds. Brush design is the other. An anti-tangle roller is the difference between emptying a bin and kneeling on the floor cutting hair off a spindle with scissors.
The scope is deliberately narrow. This is a vacuum, and eufy sells separate models for buyers who want washing as well. Committing to a vacuum-only robot is a sound decision if your hard floors get mopped by hand now and then, or if the house is mostly carpet, where a robot mop contributes very little in the first place.
The buyer served well here wants dependable scheduled vacuuming, real filtration and a dock emptied every couple of months, without paying for capability that will sit unused. The buyer who ends up disappointed wanted one machine to do everything, or has deep pile and serious pet hair, where the suction on offer is squarely mid-range. Measure the clearance under your own sofa before ordering, because this one stands taller than most of its rivals.

How this VS Score was computed
Score 37: each known spec is measured against the median of all robot vacuums (58 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 33% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note
The E20 is a well-specified mid-range vacuum with one physical dimension worth measuring your furniture against before you order: it is 118 mm tall.
Most robots in this category are 85 to 95 mm, and the gap under a typical sofa or bed frame is often right in between. At that height this one will be stopped by clearances the others clear, and no software setting fixes it. Measure the lowest thing you want it to go under first. That is the check people skip and then regret.
Everything else is sensible. Navigation is LiDAR with obstacle avoidance, full mapping, room-by-room cleaning and no-go zones, so it cleans methodically rather than wandering. Suction is 8,000 Pa, the dock empties the bin, and a 4,200 mAh battery gives 120 minutes in standard mode, 180 in ECO, enough for a floor in one pass.
It has a HEPA filter, which several more expensive machines here do not, and an anti-tangle brush, which matters in a house with long hair or a shedding pet.
It does not mop. If that is on your list, this is not the machine, and adding it later is not possible.
Buy it if you want proper LiDAR navigation, self-emptying and HEPA filtration at a mid-range price, and your furniture has generous clearance. Measure first, and look at an 80 mm model if the gap is tight.

The bottom line
The eufy E20 earns a VS Score of 37 on the 33% of specifications we could compare like for like — an indication, not a ranking.
- Who it’s for
- A home with allergies or a long-haired pet that wants mapped, scheduled vacuuming, a self-emptying dock and HEPA filtration without flagship pricing.
- Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone who wants mopping, has low sofas or beds, or fights deep pile should look elsewhere.
- The trade-off that matters
- Its tall body. No setting changes it, and a sofa a few millimeters too low stays uncleaned for as long as you own the robot.
- The main alternative
- Shark AI Ultra Robot AV2501S: a HEPA filter that is also washable, so filtration is not a running cost
