Editor’s note
This is the smallest purifier in Levoit's smart Core line, and the one I would think hardest about, because its own bigger sibling undercuts it on nearly every measure that matters.
The 200S moves 90 CFM, covering 140 square feet on the AHAM basis. The Core 300S moves 141 CFM over 219 square feet. So far so predictable: you pay less and get less. The awkward part is everything else. The 200S draws 37 watts where the larger 300S draws 23. Its quietest setting is 27 dB against the 300S's 22. It weighs 3 kilograms; the 300S weighs 2.7. A smaller purifier that uses more power, makes more noise and weighs more than the model above it is a strange thing to argue for, and the only argument is price.
Like the 300S it has no air-quality sensor and no Auto mode, so fan speed is manual or scheduled. It does have a timer and a sleep mode, app control and voice assistant support, all of which need a VeSync account. The filter is the usual sealed three-in-one cartridge, HEPA-grade rather than True HEPA, with no separately washable pre-filter. Levoit does not appear to list a filter-change indicator for this model, so treat replacement as something you put in a calendar rather than something the machine tells you.
Where it genuinely fits is a very small room – a study, a walk-in wardrobe, the corner of a nursery – and a tight budget, where 140 square feet really is enough.
If the price difference to the 300S is small where you are shopping, that is the better buy. It is unusual for me to recommend the bigger machine on efficiency grounds, but here the numbers are the numbers.
