ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI: Specs, Features, Pros & Cons

This one is built around drying the mop properly, which is the failure most self-washing robots quietly have. It washes hot and then dries with hot air — the highest drying temperature we have recorded — and that is what actually prevents the smell a damp pad develops within days.

The dock also doses detergent and empties the bin, and dirt detection sends the machine back over an area that comes up dirty. The mop is a roller rather than detachable pads, which is the trade-off worth weighing below.

Editor’s note

The X8 PRO OMNI is built around drying the mop properly, which is the failure most self-washing robots quietly have.

It washes the roller mop at 75°C and then dries it with 63°C air — the highest drying temperature in this catalogue. A pad washed hot and left damp still develops a smell within days; hot air is what actually prevents it. The dock also dispenses detergent automatically and empties the bin, and dirt detection sends the machine back over an area that comes up dirty.

The mop is a roller rather than spinning pads, applying continuous pressure across its width and presenting a freshly cleaned surface to the floor as it turns, which handles dried marks better than a pad being dragged. Suction is 18,000 Pa through a ZeroTangle rubber brush, with an extending edge arm for skirting boards.

Runtime is 194 minutes from a 6,400 mAh battery, the longest here, and ECOVACS publishes a 65 dB noise figure — a specification most makers omit, and a useful one if the machine will run while you are home.

It is 98 mm tall with 19 mm threshold clearance, and no HEPA filter is listed.

Buy it if you mop frequently and want the machine to stay hygienic without your involvement. Buy a higher-clearance machine if raised thresholds are what stops your current robot.

The bottom line

The ECOVACS DEEBOT X8 PRO OMNI earns a VS Score of 51, a solid mid-pack result among the 57 robot vacuums we compare here. It stands out for a longer runtime per charge, a mop function and dirt detection & re-mop. Just be aware of the missing automatic mop removal and weaker suction before you buy. Weigh those trade-offs against what matters most to you.

The VS Score is calculated from the weighted specifications above, compared with every other robot vacuum we track — a shortlisting guide, not a substitute for your own priorities. See how we score.
