Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT: Specs, Price, Pros & Cons

Take the compact G305 shape, remove the AA cell, and fit a rechargeable battery and Logitech's HERO 44K sensor, and the result is the G305 X SUPERLIGHT. It keeps a well-known name and changes almost everything inside it.

The weight drop is the headline change against the original. The shell is still small and symmetrical, with six buttons, and onboard memory keeps settings in the mouse. Charging runs over USB-C, and the mouse gains lighting. The sensor adds more resolution than anyone aims with and the efficiency Logitech built into the HERO line, and the rated battery life covers weeks of evening play.

The receiver is the detail to read carefully. The one in the box runs at the standard report rate, and the fast rate Logitech advertises needs a receiver Logitech sells on its own. A buyer comparing listings will see the faster number and may assume it arrives in the box. The mouse works fully without the extra receiver, at the ordinary rate. Buyers with large hands who rest a palm on the mouse will find it short, and the side buttons sit on the left, so a left-handed player gets the symmetrical shape without thumb controls.

It suits a student or a player who moves between a laptop and a desktop and wants a light Logitech without the price of the professional line. Because it shares a name with the much older G305, the quickest way to confirm a listing is the right mouse is to look for USB-C charging and the lighting.

How this VS Score was computed

Score 65: each known spec is measured against the median of all mice (81 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 68% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note

The G305 X SUPERLIGHT is Logitech's attempt to put the low-weight philosophy of its flagship esports mice into a more accessible model. At a listed 59 grams, it is much easier to start and stop than the battery-powered original G305, whose compact shape it keeps. The HERO 44K sensor is far beyond what ordinary play requires, but its real value is dependable tracking and efficient wireless operation.

Connectivity is unusually flexible for a performance mouse: LIGHTSPEED 2.4 GHz for gaming, Bluetooth for a second device, and wired USB-C when charging. The included receiver operates at 1,000 Hz. Logitech advertises higher rates with a separately sold compatible receiver, so buyers should not assume 8,000 Hz is available as sold. The built-in battery lasts up to 130 hours under stated conditions, and a short charge can cover an evening of play.

The compact shell is the main fit question. Large hands seeking a full palm grip may find it short, and the symmetrical body is not a truly left-handed design because the side buttons remain on the left. RGB adds visual character but uses power, while competitive players may prefer to disable it. There is no adjustable weight system or wireless charging.

This model suits students, people who split time between a laptop and a desktop, and players who want a light wireless mouse without flagship pricing. It is less suitable for very large hands, MMO players needing many buttons, or anyone expecting the optional high-polling receiver in the box. Because the G305 X is a new 2026 product and shares part of its name with the much older G305, verify the listing shows USB-C, Bluetooth, and the approximately 59-gram body before purchasing.

The bottom line

The Logitech G305 X SUPERLIGHT earns a VS Score of 65, above the median of the 81 mice it is measured against (a score of 50 is level with that median).

Who it’s for
A student or laptop-and-desktop player who wants a light wireless Logitech in a compact shape without flagship pricing.
Who should look elsewhere
Large-handed palm grippers and MMO players, and anyone who expects the fastest polling without buying an extra receiver.
The trade-off that matters
The receiver in the box. The headline polling rate needs a separately sold one, so the mouse you unpack reports at the ordinary rate.
The main alternative
