The Airmega 200M is one of the quiet bargains in air purification, because it's essentially Coway's legendary AP-1512HH Mighty wearing a squarer jacket. Same class of performance — 246 CFM smoke CADR, rated for 361 sq ft at a vigorous 4.8 air changes per hour — same auto mode driven by a real dust sensor, same switchable bipolar ionizer, often at the same discounted street prices. The Mighty has topped recommendation lists for a decade; this is that machine.
What daily use looks like: the sensor ring glows blue, purple or red as your air changes, auto mode reacts on its own, and the Eco setting stops the fan entirely after half an hour of clean air — a small feature that meaningfully cuts power use. Maintenance is a washable pre-filter plus two replaceables on different clocks: the deodorization filter every six months, the True HEPA yearly. Cheap individually, but two SKUs to remember.
The compromises are honest ones. There's no Wi-Fi, no app, no dedicated sleep mode — the display dims, but the quietest setting is 24.4 dB rather than near-silence, and at full tilt it reaches 55 dB and pulls a surprisingly stout 82 watts. Coway's own paperwork also disagrees with itself on weight (12.3 lb on the site, 13.2 in the manual — we stored the manual's figure).
Who it suits: bedrooms, offices and normal living rooms where someone wants proven filtration without a companion app. Who should pass: whole-open-floor households (that's the Airmega 400's job) and anyone who wants smart-home integration.
