Editor’s note

Dreame's pitch for the X60 Max Ultra Complete is that it goes where other flagship robots cannot. At 79.5mm tall with a LiDAR turret that retracts into the body, it clears the sub-80mm gap under a lot of sofas and beds that taller pucks with fixed towers simply cannot enter. If you have low furniture and have been disappointed before, that single figure may matter more than anything else on the spec sheet.

The rest is a well-equipped 2026 flagship. Suction is quoted at 35,000Pa, the dual spinning mops swing outward to reach edges and corners, and the base station washes the pads with 100C water and refills the onboard tank between passes. Twin detergent compartments let you keep a general floor solution and a pet-odour solution loaded at once, which is a genuinely useful touch in a house with animals.

It is also demanding. The base station is large and needs a permanent spot with clearance, and a machine that washes mops with boiling water and dries them with hot air uses meaningful power and makes noise doing it. The 235ml onboard dustbin is small, so it leans heavily on frequent trips back to the dock — fine in an open plan, more disruptive in a house full of narrow doorways.

Obstacle avoidance now runs on dual cameras with a projector rather than structured light alone, which handles cables and low objects far better than previous generations, though no robot yet handles a floor strewn with socks and toys.

Buy it if you have low furniture, hard floors with rugs, pets, and you want mopping handled without touching a pad. Skip it if you live in a small flat where a simpler robot would do, or if you cannot give the base station the space and permanent plumbing-free corner it needs.

How the VS Score works — and what it can’t tell you

Every measurable spec is scored against the average of all the Robot Vacuums we track: matching the class average scores 50, clearly beating it climbs towards 100, and each spec counts according to an editorial weight that reflects real-world impact — a battery-capacity gap moves the score far more than a colour-options list. The quality bars on the spec cards above show where this model sits inside the full range for its class, and the overall VS Score rolls every weighted result into one number.

Unknown values are never estimated. A spec this product doesn’t report simply drops out of its scoring — it isn’t penalised with a guess — but a thinner spec sheet does mean a score built on fewer data points, which is why completeness is disclosed under About this data.

Most importantly: a spec-sheet lead is not the same as a better product. Megapixels, gigahertz and benchmark points describe capacity, not experience — image processing, software optimisation, thermals, haptics and ergonomics decide how a device actually feels, and no table captures reliability or long-term support quality. Treat the VS Score as a structured summary of what can be measured, not a substitute for your own priorities.

About this data

  • Specifications are compiled from each manufacturer’s official spec sheet, cross-checked against trusted specification databases, and normalised into one schema so identical things are compared identically.
  • Specifications last verified July 29, 2026.
  • Data completeness: 30 of the 38 specs in this category are verified (79%). Anything we could not verify is shown as Unknown — never estimated — and is excluded from the score.
  • Prices and availability come from live retailer feeds via our shopping partners and refresh throughout the day; a missing price means no partner currently lists the product, not that it is discontinued.
  • Want the full picture? Our editorial guidelines explain how we research products, weight the scores and stay independent.
