Editor’s note
The 360 Vis Nav is Dyson applying its own philosophy to robot vacuums, and that philosophy involves trade-offs the rest of the category made differently.
Dyson's argument has always been suction and filtration over convenience, and this machine follows it: a HEPA filter, a full-width brush bar designed to reach right to the edge, and camera-based vSLAM navigation with mapping, no-go zones and room-by-room cleaning. Dyson publishes no Pa figure for it, so it cannot be placed against the 4,000 to 22,000 Pa quoted by rivals — take that as unstated rather than implied.
Two specifications will decide whether it suits you, and both cut against it. Runtime is 65 minutes, the shortest in this catalogue, so a large floor will not be finished in one pass. And there is no self-emptying dock, so the onboard bin is emptied by hand after each run. Those two together make it the highest-maintenance machine here — which is a real consideration, because the reason robot vacuums stop being used is almost always maintenance rather than cleaning quality.
It is 100 mm tall, so low furniture is out, and it does not mop.
Buy it if cleaning performance and filtration are what you care about and you are content to empty it yourself. Buy a self-emptying LiDAR machine if you want to think about it as little as possible.
