The Plus 575 is the sensible middle of iRobot's 2026 range, and in some homes it is the smarter buy than the Max 775 above it. You give up the roller mop and take dual spinning pads instead, but you keep the parts that actually decide whether a robot vacuum is livable: ClearView Pro LiDAR with proper obstacle recognition, a dock that washes the pads with 75 C water and hot-dries them, automatic emptying rated at 90 days, and a 35 mm threshold climb that clears most door strips.
The compact pitch deserves scrutiny, though. iRobot markets the dock as 46% smaller, and it is indeed the tidier tower – but its own published robot dimensions, 14.1 by 13.8 inches, are nearly identical to the flagship's and sit awkwardly against Amazon's much smaller figures for the same machine. Somebody's spec sheet is wrong, and I have recorded the maker's numbers with that flag attached. The same goes for suction: Amazon's title advertises 25,000 Pa, iRobot claims only '3.5x stronger' than its own baseline, so the suction cell here stays empty.
Two honest limitations. The pads lift 10 mm over carpet, which is fine for low pile and marginal for anything plush – and they are never removed automatically, so they ride along damp-ish on vacuum-only runs. And the main brush is a single flexible rubber roller with an edge brush, not the dual anti-tangle set the Max models get; long-haired households will notice the difference at cleaning time.
At $799.99 with eight reviews to its name, this is a considered bet on iRobot's new generation rather than a proven machine. For a mostly hard-floor home that wants the self-maintaining dock without the flagship price, I think it is the right bet.
