Editor’s note
The WH80 pairs Hall-effect switches with the largest battery in this group, which is a combination almost nobody offers.
Magnetic boards are usually wired, because a wireless link works against the low latency they are sold on. NuPhy has gone the other way: tri-mode connection with an 8,000 mAh battery quoted at up to 500 hours, and 8,000 Hz polling when wired. That makes it the rare Hall-effect keyboard you can take somewhere.
The switch feature set needs reading carefully, though. Adjustable actuation and rapid trigger are both present — the things that make magnetic switches worth having for shooters — but analog input is not. A magnetic switch reports its travel continuously, which is what those two features need; exposing a key to the PC as a joystick axis is a separate firmware feature, and this board does not ship it. If you wanted proportional WASD for racing or flight sims, that is the line that rules it out.
The rest is well judged: a TKL layout, Gateron Jade Dragon-N switches at 40 g, PBT keycaps, hot-swap sockets, sound dampening, per-key RGB and onboard profiles. At 1 kg it stays where you put it.
Buy it if you want magnetic-switch response without being tethered, and rapid trigger is the feature you actually use. Buy a Wooting or the Keychron K2 HE if analog axes matter.
