Razer BlackWidow V4 TKL HyperSpeed (Wuthering Waves Specs

Two things on this keyboard are themed, and only two: the pink and white keycaps with their character set, and the artwork printed on the aluminum top case. The rest is Razer's standard BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed, a wireless board that the company lists this edition as a licensed variant of.

So the product has two layers to judge. Underneath is a tenkeyless with a function row, arrows and navigation keys, a rotary knob and media controls in the top corner, and a build that borrows from custom keyboards. A top-mounted steel plate, foam layers and lubricated stabilizers shape the sound, and the sockets accept replacement switches without soldering, so the tactile switches it ships with are a starting point.

On top is the costume, which exists for fans of Wuthering Waves. The keycaps come off and could be swapped for a plain set later, but the art on the case stays for as long as you own it. The plain black keyboard with identical internals is sold alongside, so the edition is a choice about looks and nothing else. Its wireless side is strong. Razer's HyperSpeed receiver, Bluetooth and a cable are all supported, and with the lighting off Razer's rating stretches to months of daily use. Polling stays at the standard rate over wireless.

What it lacks is the usual list for this family. The keycaps are ABS, and shine tends to show sooner on pale caps. A mouse receiver cannot plug into the keyboard, and no wrist rest is included either. Configuration runs through Razer's software, though onboard profiles mean it can be set once and left. Wuthering Waves players who want a serious wireless tenkeyless, and like the art enough to see it every day, are the whole audience.

How this VS Score was computed

Score 55: each known spec is measured against the median of all keyboards (101 products), then weighted; 50 means level with that median. In classes of six or more, a value beyond the class’s 10th–90th percentile range counts as that limit, so one extreme product cannot set the scale. 58% of the scoreable weight could be used; unknown values, features not applicable to this class and proxies (battery capacity where a rated life exists) add or remove nothing.

Editor’s note

Strip away the artwork and this is the Razer BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed, which Razer confirms by listing the Wuthering Waves edition as a licensed variant of that exact keyboard. So the question splits in two: is the base keyboard good, and do you want to pay for the pink-and-white Denia keycaps and the character art on the case. I can answer the first. The second is entirely yours.

The base keyboard is one of Razer's more serious boards. A 5052 aluminum top case over a steel plate, tape-modded PCB, lubricated stabilizers and two layers of dampening foam. This is the enthusiast recipe, and Razer has adopted it wholesale. Switches are Razer's Orange tactile Gen-3, and the PCB is hot-swappable with 3- or 5-pin switches, so you are not stuck with them. Wireless is Razer's HyperSpeed link with a shared dongle for a Razer mouse, plus Bluetooth for three devices and USB-C wired. The quoted battery life with the lighting off is exceptional, and polling stays at the ordinary rate.

The compromises are familiar ones. The keycaps are doubleshot ABS, not PBT, so expect shine over time, more noticeable on light-colored caps like these. There is no USB passthrough and no wrist rest in the box. And it runs on Synapse, which some people tolerate and some refuse to install. The onboard memory holds five profiles, so you can configure it and then uninstall the software.

If you want a wireless, hot-swap TKL with a metal top case and you like the artwork, this is a well-built board in a costume. Without that interest in the artwork, buy the plain black version of the same keyboard and keep the difference.

The bottom line

The Razer BlackWidow V4 TKL HyperSpeed (Wuthering Waves Edition) earns a VS Score of 55, above the median of the 101 keyboards it is measured against (a score of 50 is level with that median).

Who it’s for
Wuthering Waves fans who want a good wireless TKL underneath the artwork: hot-swap, aluminum top case, tape-modded PCB, three-device Bluetooth and a 980-hour battery.
Who should look elsewhere
Anyone who does not want the artwork, because the plain BlackWidow V4 Tenkeyless HyperSpeed is the identical keyboard. Also not for PBT purists: the caps are doubleshot ABS and light colors show shine.
The trade-off that matters
Enthusiast construction and excellent battery life against ABS keycaps, no USB passthrough, no wrist rest, and Synapse for anything beyond the five onboard profiles.
The main alternative
Razer BlackWidow V4 75%: the same hot-swap, gasket-style construction in a 75% layout with a wrist rest included, if you would rather have the compact layout than the themed finish.
