The G515 RAPID TKL is unusual in a way that matters: almost every magnetic-switch keyboard is standard height, and this one is low profile. At 22 millimetres tall it sits about as high as a laptop keyboard, which for people who dislike the wrist angle of a chunky mechanical board is the whole reason to look at it.
The magnetic switches do what the category promises. Actuation adjusts anywhere between 0.1 and 2.5 millimetres of the 2.5 millimetres of travel available, and Rapid Trigger resets a key the moment it starts moving back up rather than waiting for a fixed point. For counter-strafing in a shooter, that is a genuine mechanical advantage over a conventional switch.
It also means you can go too far. Setting actuation to its shallowest makes typing an exercise in accidental keypresses, and G HUB lets you set it per key for a reason — shallow on the movement keys, normal everywhere else, is what most people settle on.
Build quality is better than the slim profile suggests. There is a stainless steel top plate, several layers of damping, and double-shot PBT keycaps rather than the ABS that usually appears at this height. Settings store in onboard memory, so your actuation profile survives a move to a machine without Logitech's software.
Two limitations to weigh. It is wired only, and polling tops out at 1,000 Hz rather than the 8,000 Hz that some rivals and Logitech's own PRO X TKL RAPID offer. And the switches are not swappable, so the low-profile magnetic feel is what you keep.
Buy it if you want magnetic-switch gaming features without the wrist angle of a tall mechanical board, and you play at a level where reset distance actually changes outcomes. Anyone who mostly types, or who wants wireless, is better served by a conventional keyboard for considerably less money.
