Razer Huntsman V3 Pro: Specs, Features, Pros & Cons

This review measures the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro against the full 34-spec sheet we track for keyboards, comparing it like for like with the 74 other models in our database. It earns a VS Score of 56 out of 100 — the weighted result of every verified specification measured against the class average.

On the spec sheet it is strongest in switches & typing and weakest in connectivity. Its clearest single advantage over the class average: 3.85 g less actuation force — 40 g vs 43.85 g (avg). None of our retail partners currently lists the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro, so availability may be limited; a missing price never affects the VS Score. A transparency note: this spec sheet is 65% complete. Anything unverified shows as Unknown and is left out of the score — we never estimate a missing value.

Editor’s note

The full-size Huntsman V3 Pro is a competitive gaming instrument first and a keyboard second. Its second-generation analog optical switches let you place the actuation point anywhere between 0.1 mm and 4.0 mm, and Rapid Trigger resets a key the moment it starts travelling back upward. In practice that means counter-strafing and fast repeated inputs land more cleanly than they do on any fixed-actuation board.

That capability carries a real trade-off. Set the actuation shallow enough to feel the benefit and the keyboard turns hostile to ordinary typing, because resting fingers trigger keys and the 40 g switches give no tactile warning before they fire. Most owners settle on a shallow gaming profile and a deeper typing profile, which the six onboard slots handle without needing software running.

Check the model number carefully before ordering. The standard Huntsman V3 Pro polls at 1,000 Hz, while the visually identical 8KHz version is a separate and more expensive product. Retailer listings frequently blur the two, and nothing in the photographs distinguishes them.

The build is solid rather than exotic: a brushed aluminium top plate, textured doubleshot PBT keycaps that resist shine well, a magnetic leatherette wrist rest, and a multi-function dial with three control buttons that prove more useful day to day than any of the analog wizardry. It is wired only, which is the correct decision for a keyboard sold on latency.

The switches are not hot-swappable, and because they are analog optical there is no meaningful aftermarket to swap into anyway. You are committing to this feel permanently.

Buy it if you play competitive shooters seriously and will genuinely tune the actuation to suit you. If you want a keyboard mainly for work with some evening gaming, this is a lot of money for capability you will not touch, and a good tactile mechanical board will make you happier.

Switches & typing

Switch technology ?
Optical

The key switch technology; later types are generally more responsive.

Switch ?
Razer Analog Optical Gen-2

The specific switch used (e.g. Cherry MX Red).

Actuation force ?
40 g

The force needed to register a key; lower is lighter to type on.

Hot-swappable ?
No

Swap switches without soldering.

N-key rollover ?
Yes

Registers every simultaneous keypress.

Adjustable actuation ?
Yes

Set the actuation point per key (analog / Hall-effect boards).

Analog input ?
Yes

Keys report their travel depth for variable gamepad-style input and multi-stage actions.

Performance

Polling rate ?
1,000 Hz

How often the keyboard reports input; higher can reduce latency.

Wired latency ?
? Unknown

End-to-end keypress latency over a wired connection; lower is better.

Wireless latency ?
? Unknown

End-to-end keypress latency over the fastest wireless mode; lower is better.

Rapid trigger ?
Yes

Resets a key dynamically as it moves, enabling faster repeated inputs.

Layout & size

Form factor ?
Full-size

The keyboard size and layout.

Keys ?
? Unknown

The number of keys.

Width ?
445.52 mm

The overall width.

Depth ?
139.19 mm

The overall depth.

Front height ?

How the VS Score works — and what it can’t tell you

Every measurable spec is scored against the average of all the keyboards we track: matching the class average scores 50, clearly beating it climbs towards 100, and each spec counts according to an editorial weight that reflects real-world impact — a battery-capacity gap moves the score far more than a colour-options list. The quality bars on the spec cards above show where this model sits inside the full range for its class, and the overall VS Score rolls every weighted result into one number.

Unknown values are never estimated. A spec this product doesn’t report simply drops out of its scoring — it isn’t penalised with a guess — but a thinner spec sheet does mean a score built on fewer data points, which is why completeness is disclosed under About this data.

Most importantly: a spec-sheet lead is not the same as a better product. Megapixels, gigahertz and benchmark points describe capacity, not experience — image processing, software optimisation, thermals, haptics and ergonomics decide how a device actually feels, and no table captures reliability or long-term support quality. Treat the VS Score as a structured summary of what can be measured, not a substitute for your own priorities.

About this data

  • Specifications are compiled from each manufacturer’s official spec sheet, cross-checked against trusted specification databases, and normalised into one schema so identical things are compared identically.
  • Specifications last verified August 6, 2026.
  • Data completeness: 22 of the 34 specs in this category are verified (65%). Anything we could not verify is shown as Unknown — never estimated — and is excluded from the score.
  • Prices and availability come from live retailer feeds via our shopping partners and refresh throughout the day; a missing price means no partner currently lists the product, not that it is discontinued.
  • Want the full picture? Our editorial guidelines explain how we research products, weight the scores and stay independent.
  • Spotted an error in a spec? Tell us and we will correct the sheet.
