NuPhy Air75 V3: Specs, Features, Pros & Cons

Most mechanical keyboards are too tall to type on comfortably without a wrist rest. This one is roughly the height of a laptop keyboard, using low-profile switches that travel about half the distance of standard ones, so your wrists stay flat.

Over a working day that matters more than any switch specification, and at well under a kilogram with an aluminium top it is genuinely portable as well. What it trades away to get that low is worth reading carefully below.

Editor’s note

The Air75 V3 solves a problem most mechanical keyboards ignore: they are too tall to type on comfortably without a wrist rest.

At 13.2 mm to the front edge this one is roughly the height of a laptop keyboard, using low-profile mechanical switches that travel about half the distance of standard ones. Your wrists stay flat, which over a working day matters more than any switch specification. At 724 g with an aluminium top and ABS bottom it is also genuinely portable.

The rest of the build is more serious than the profile suggests: a gasket mount with a polycarbonate plate, hot-swappable switches — rare on low-profile boards, where the sockets are harder to fit — and PBT keycaps in a 75% layout with a function row and arrow keys.

The standout number is battery, quoted at 1,200 hours over 2.4 GHz with three Bluetooth devices available. That is charging it once or twice a year.

There is no rotary knob, no Hall-effect sensing, no rapid trigger and no analog input, and polling is 1,000 Hz. This is a typing keyboard that games adequately, not the reverse.

Buy it if you want a slim, portable, long-lasting mechanical keyboard and low-profile switches suit you — try them first if you have not, because the short travel divides people sharply. Buy a full-travel board if you already know you prefer the deeper keystroke.

The bottom line

The NuPhy Air75 V3 earns a VS Score of 40, trailing most of the 101 keyboards we compare here, at least on the spec sheet. It stands out for hot-swappable switches, a lower front height and n-key rollover. Just be aware of a much lower polling rate and fewer connection options before you buy. Weigh those trade-offs against what matters most to you.

The VS Score is calculated from the weighted specifications above, compared with every other keyboard we track — a shortlisting guide, not a substitute for your own priorities. See how we score.
