Editor’s note
The Keychron B6 Pro is a full-size ultra-slim wireless keyboard that costs about $45 and behaves far more like a good laptop keyboard than a mechanical one. It uses scissor switches over a membrane, and at 5.2mm at the front edge and 623g it is genuinely thin — a deliberate contrast to the rest of Keychron's range.
Battery life is the standout. The 800mAh cell is quoted at up to 1200 hours, roughly eight months at five hours a day, and the keyboard keeps working while charging over USB-C. It connects three ways: 2.4GHz at 1000Hz polling, Bluetooth 5.2 across three paired devices, and wired. It ships with a Mac layout that stays fully usable on Windows, including the media and function key behaviour Mac users expect. Programmability is the real surprise at this price — the ZMK-based Keychron Launcher runs in a browser and writes keymaps, macros and shortcuts to the board itself, which almost nothing else in the budget slim category offers. The 109-key layout includes 17 multimedia keys and a concave keycap profile that keeps typing accurate.
The compromises are visible. There is no backlight at all, so typing in a dark room means touch-typing. N-key rollover is not supported, which matters for gaming and for complex chorded shortcuts. Bluetooth polling falls to 90Hz. Case and keycaps are both ABS, so the keys will develop a shine over time, and the fixed 3.2-degree tilt has no fold-out feet — a repeated complaint from owners who want a steeper angle. The typing feel is soft and slightly rubbery, so try one first if crisp feedback matters to you.
Buy it if you want an inexpensive, near-silent full-size board with enormous battery life for an office or a multi-device desk. Skip it if you game, need backlighting, or want mechanical feedback.
